In the Venice area, you may start to see signs of termites starting as early as March and running through the end of November. Signs like swarming, discarded wings, and droppings.

Because Florida’s climate is so inviting, termites tend to have a longer season here. In the Venice area, the tropical rough-headed dry wood termite swarms at night, from April through July. Most colonies swarm in the afternoon between March and May. The western dry wood termite has been identified during the day throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Subterranean Termites tend primarily to feed on wood, they also like paper goods, insulation, drywall, and filtration systems. Termites can damage trees and shrubs. Besides structural damage, subterranean termites can costs you thousands of dollars if the termites are left untreated. The eastern subterranean termite swarms in daylight between October and February. The dark southeastern subterranean termite usually swarms in daylight between March and June.
